Plain plug gauge

A gauge is a measuring tool, which is used to check the correctness of part’s shape and dimensions, and which helps to find out, if the manufactured parts may be assembled to make the final product and to confirm the correctness of assembly operations. A plain plug gauge is used for measurements of the diameter, height and length of a recess. A plain plug gauge may be monolith (made of one piece of metal), and composite, as well as one-ended and double-ended, depending on the number of conical inserts or cylinder attachments on each type of gauges.
