External control gauges
External control gauges
External control gauges are used for measurements of external diameters in the range from 8 to 100 mm or for measurements of linear dimensions in the range from 50 to 350, or more. External control gauges are used for centering of a two-bearing shaft in relation to another, previously installed shaft. For this purpose, the gauge is fixed either to the couplings of the checked shafts or to the shafts themselves. When the gauge is fixed to the shafts, it allows checking of the position of the shafts independently from allowances made for coupling production and boring.
